CLASS: Ziggy Interrupted SATURDAYS 1/17 and 1/31/26 1:00-4:00pm

Ziggy Interrupted

A scarf with zig zag stripes, ‘interrupted’ with panels of cute, mini motifs throughout.

Instructor: Nancy DeVries

Cost: $60 class fee + materials

Dates: Saturdays 1:00-4:00pm - January 17 and 31 (2 sessions)

Level: Intermediate. This is not a beginner class. This pattern uses basic stitches to make up a simple repeat and motifs. However, experience with joining motifs is needed. Prior to this class, you need to be confident with magic ring and double crochet. There will be a fair amount of outside work to be completed between sessions, which are 2 weeks apart. This class is for participants ages 18+.

Skills: You will learn how to read a chart, plan out your color arrangements, crochet the motifs, arrange and assemble the motifs, crochet the zig zag stripes, decrease stitches, create and attach the tassels, and add the border.

NOTE: Using all solid colors is not recommended for this pattern. We highly encourage you to select a combination of variegated, speckles and tonals in a mixture of light/medium/dark colors. We are happy to assist you in your selections!

• Yarn: 5 x 100g hanks of 4ply/fingering weight yarn, merino or merino/nylon blend. Recommended: Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light or Twist Light, Malabrigo Mechita or Ultimate Sock, Urth Harvest, Koigu KPPPM, Knitting for Olive Merino, Polka Dot Sheep Iron Horse, Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok Light, Cascade Heritage Sock, Berroco Vintage Sock, 
• Hooks: You will need a variety of crochet hook sizes between 2.5-3.5mm, or sizes needed to obtain gauge
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Instructor Bio: From Nancy - "My grandma was a master embroiderer and crocheter of lace edgings. She taught me at the age of 9 how to crochet. Since learning I have never not crocheted. I love trying new and intricate patterns or making things up on my own. I have done many baby blankets, sweaters, granny squares, dishcloths, scarves....  I have been crocheting 50+ years and have taught many others how to crochet."
