Larch Peds Socks

This intermediate level class is intended for students that are experienced sock knitters and would like to try some fun new techniques!

From designer Laura Nelkin: "Larch Peds start with a nifty lined cuff, crafted with short rows and a turned hem. It is squishy and perfect for protecting your heel while you walk."

Dates: Thursday, October 8, 3:00-5:30pm

Level: Intermediate. Prior to this class, you need to have successfuly completed a pair of fingering weight socks, including doing a heel flap, turn and gusset.

Skills: In this single session class, we will focus on the unique short row folded cuff of this shorty sock, and briefly discuss the other interesting elements of this pattern. We will only be working the cuff technique in class, the remainder of the sock will be completed on your own. This class is for participants 18+.

Materials: 10% off with class purchase

• Yarn: Approx. 190-271 yards fingering weight sock yarn, including approx 40-50 yards contrast color for ribbed cuff lining and toes
• Needles: 
  Ndl A - Size 0 (2mm) 32"-40" long circular needle or DPNs, or one size smaller than needed to obtain gauge - used for provisional cast on
  Ndl B - Size 1 (2.25mm) 32"-40" long circular needle or DPNs, or size needed to obtain gauge - used for cuff
  Ndl C - 16 or 24-inch circular needle Size 00, 0 or 1 (1.75-2.25mm) - also used for provisional cast on
• Opening stitch markers
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Instructor Bio: Mary has been knitting for nearly 40 years. She has knit intarsia, stranded colorwork, and her favorite – lots and lots of socks! Mary loves all things creative, including spinning, weaving, jewelry making and dabbling in a variety of art media.
