Intermediate Weaving - Landscape
Instructor: Ellen Armendáriz Stumbo
Cost: $90 - includes class fee and all materials
Dates: Saturday, September 20, 9:00-4:00pm (with a break for lunch)
Level: Prior to this class, you need to have completed our beginner’s “Learn to Weave” class OR have prior weaving experience. Intermediate level. This class is for participants 18+.
Skills: You will learn to warp a loom, use the twining stitch to create edges, learn how to “layer” the tabby stitch to make shapes, and add embroidery to a tapestry. We will finish by adding fringe, tucking in the tails and hanging it on a dowel for display.
Project: You will be creating a multi-color landscape with an embroidered sun - or moon, if you prefer a nighttime landscape!
Materials: Included in class fee. You will have the option to purchase your frame loom after class at 10% off.
Instructor Bio: Ellen Armendáriz Stumbo is a fiber artist from Mexico, living in Minnesota. Tapestry weaving was an art form passed down from her mother. She has done commission pieces, and really enjoys bringing her culture into her art.
