Intro to Tunisian Crochet

Instructor: Nancy DeVries

Cost: $25 class fee + materials

Dates: Saturday, January 31, 10:00am-12:00pm

Level: Prior crochet experience needed - this is not a Learn to Crochet class. You need to be proficient in basic crochet stitches as well as how to hold and manage your yarn. This class will be geared towards right handed crocheters (sorry lefties!) and is for participants ages 18+.

Skills: You will learn the anatomy of a Tunisian stitch, Terms, Simple Stitch, Purl Stitch, Knit Stitch and Reverse Stitch. Please note, this is a skills/technique based class, so we will not be making a specific project (but you can then sign up for the upcoming Tunisian Sampler Shawl class!)

Materials: 10% off with class purchase. Please purchase class supplies at Rose Yarn Co.

• 1 skein Rowan Handknit Cotton in a light or medium color
• Size 7 (4.5mm) Tunisian crochet hook with an 8" length cable and end stopper.
  

Instructor Bio: From Nancy - "My grandma was a master embroiderer and crocheter of lace edgings. She taught me at the age of 9 how to crochet. Since learning I have never not crocheted. I love trying new and intricate patterns or making things up on my own. I have done many baby blankets, sweaters, granny squares, dishcloths, scarves....  I have been crocheting 50+ years and have taught many others how to crochet."
