Intro to Colorwork: Sander Cowl

Join us for a fun beginning colorwork class!

In the frosty North, two-color knitting was invented to make a thicker and warmer garment. Beyond the practical side of stranded knitting, colorwork adds contrast and beauty. Besides it’s a blast to knit. The pattern in this cowl is very rewarding because it looks complicated, but it is actually a simple XO pattern repeat. It’s knit in the round with minimal shaping, so you can concentrate on the colorwork without worrying about anything else. In Norwegian, patterns like this one with an XO repeat are called Kors and Kringle, which translates to a Cross and a Cookie (or a pastry). Don’t you love that?  - Kristin Drysdale

Instructor Bio: From Shari Besser – “I’ve been teaching classes since 1998, when my twins graduated from high school, and Zandy from Zandy’s yarn shop took a chance on me! I learn more from people than I teach! My grandma taught me to crochet and knit a bit, but a friend sat me down and taught me the basics, I’m so thankful for her! I’m still learning and in awe of what so many accomplish. I might be a familiar face as I’ve taught at a few shops!”
