Fun With Felted Bowls

Join us for this fun "Make and Take" project! Purchase the felted bowl of your choice, and we'll walk you through how to embellish it. You'll leave with a fun new yarn bowl / home accessory, or a great personalized gift! (Get an early start on Christmas gifts!)

Instructor: Nancy DeVries

Cost: $30 class fee + materials (some provided)

Date: Thursday, October 15, 6:00-8:00pm

Level: Basic prior experience with a needle and thread is helpful.  

Skills: We will cover the basics of embroidery and surface embroidery, how to embroider on a felt bowl, how to start and secure the end of your thread, and how to attach ribbon and embellishments such as buttons.

Materials: 10% off with class purchase. Please purchase class supplies at Rose Yarn Co.

• Felted Bowl - Small or Large or Tidy Pods or XL Felt Basket (see in store)
• Eco Vita Wool Thread OR fingering weight yarn (variegated or fast changing colors work best)
• Embellishments: A few choices of ribbon and buttons will be provided in class, or feel free to bring your own!
• Chenille needle
• Sharp scissors

Instructor Bio: From Nancy - "My grandma was a master embroiderer and crocheter of lace edgings. She taught me at the age of 9 how to crochet. Since learning I have never not crocheted. I love trying new and intricate patterns or making things up on my own. I have done many baby blankets, sweaters, granny squares, dishcloths, scarves....  I have been crocheting 50+ years and have taught many others how to crochet."
