Beginner Socks
Instructor: Mary Hanson
Cost: $65 class fee + materials
Dates: Saturdays 1:30-3:30 pm - February 7, 14, 21 (3 sessions)
Level: Advanced Beginner. Prior to this class, you should know how to cast on, read a pattern, knit and purl, and have prior experience knitting in the round. This class is for participants 16+.
Skills: You will learn how to knit a sock top down, including magic loop method, heel flap and gusset, decreasing stitches, and kitchener stitch for toe.
Pattern: DK Weight Vanilla Socks - Kay Litton (free pattern)

- 200-245 yards DK weight yarn with Nylon: Palmer Yarn Co. Nylon DK (recommended), Cascade Heritage 6, or Schoppel Zauberball Starke 6 for fun mismatched, stripey socks!

Instructor Bio: Mary has been knitting for 35+ years. She has knit intarsia, stranded colorwork, and her favorite – lots and lots of socks! Mary loves all things creative, including spinning, weaving, jewelry making and dabbling in a variety of art media.
