Beginner Mittens
Get a head start on holiday gift giving with your first pair of mittens!
Instructor: Mary Hanson
Cost: $40 plus Materials
Dates: Thursdays 6:00-8:00 pm – October 17 & 24 (2 sessions)
Level: Prior to this class, you need to be able to cast on, knit in the round, purl, bind off and read a pattern. Advanced beginner. This class is for participants age 18+.
Skills: You will learn how to make a thumb gusset, pick up stitches and knit a thumb, and how to decrease at the top of the mitten.
*Please note: There will be a small amount of pre-work required for this class. You will cast on and knit the cuff prior to class, so we can dive right into learning the thumb gusset.

Malabrigo Rios, Cascade 220 SW Merino, Cascade 220 SW Wave, Madelinetosh Tosh Vintage, Ruby & Roses Worsted, Berroco Ultra Alpaca, Berroco Vintage - Needles: Size 5 (3.75mm) and Size 7 (4.5mm) 32” or 40" circular needle for magic loop OR DPNs

Instructor Bio: Mary has been knitting for 35+ years. She has knit intarsia, stranded colorwork, and her favorite – lots and lots of socks! Mary loves all things creative, including spinning, weaving, jewelry making and dabbling in a variety of art media.
